Our client, a leading distributor of aftermarket automotive and industrial parts, wholesale office products and electrical/electronic materials, required a fresh, innovative approach to communicating safety policies and issues to its employees. 
 
     
  POWERFUL INSIGHTS  
 

Protiviti’s Creative Options professionals developed an internal communications program to create a risk-conscious culture within our client’s retail and warehouse workforce. 

The program development by Protiviti, branded “S.A.F.E.,” featured targeted safety materials for each area of operation. These materials included a print awareness center, a managers’ implementation guide, a performance-tracking website and quarterly newsletters.

Following initial success of the safety program, our client was excited about embarking on a program to promote its sustainability and green initiatives. Branded “Grow,” the program designed by Protiviti featured green energy management tips and techniques to encourage employees to adopt environmentally friendly behaviors in both the workplace and at home. Message points included a focus on landfill waste reduction, increased recycling of materials, and usage of energy-efficient appliances and lighting.

 
     
  PROVEN DELIVERY  
 

As a result of the two programs:

  1. The client has seen a significant reduction in accident-related loss. There is a high correlation (measured at -0.626) between program participation and accident rate reduction.
  2. The “Grow” energy management program was introduced to all divisions. Communications raised awareness of energy management techniques and had an impact on energy usage both within the company and in the day-to-day activities of employees.
